Welcome statement

On behalf of the staff, children and local community, may we wish you a warm welcome to the North Rigton church of England Primary School Website.

This website will give you a flavour of school life and the wonderful learning opportunities that take place; we are committed to providing a high standard of education to enable all our children to achieve their potential within a stunning location. We are determined to provide a creative and stimulating curriculum where our children are inspired to learn and to develop a love of life-long learning. We provide opportunities for our children to develop their skills in all areas to enrich their whole learning experience.

We are very proud of our small village school and we are delighted that Ofsted agree. Our recent inspection (published February 10th 2015) states:

  • “Pupils thrive in their learning in this exceptionally caring and supportive school where their individual needs are well met by a dedicated staff team.... Pupils make good progress in their learning... Good teaching results in pupils achieving well over time.... Pupils are exceptionally well behaved both in classrooms and when playing with each other...”

The full report can be accessed via the following link Ofsted Report February 10 2015

Following the publication of the report our Chair of Governors, Paul Butler, stated:

  • "The Governors are delighted with the overall Ofsted grading and with the comments made by the inspector in the report. The outcome reflects the hard work and dedication of our head teacher and teaching staff in providing a supportive and caring environment, based on Christian values, for all our children in  which they are all able to reach their full potential."

Our school is built on three key elements  - confidence, skills and spirituality and it is these key elements that helps inspire us to learn in a caring and inclusive learning environment based on Christian values.

This is reflected and demonstrated in our recent Outstanding SIAMS Ofsted report which can be accessed by clicking here for which we were recently congratulated by Bishop Nick Baines when he came  to Open and Bless our new Playground and Reflective Garden.
